Faculty Honor Wall in Melville Library

by anna on September 27th, 2013

Ribbon CeremonyIt was a momentous occasion. On Wednesday, 9.25.2013, President Stanley introduced the Stony Brook Community to the Faculty Honor Wall, which is located in Melville Library. The dedication ceremony was held during campus lifetime and invited all students, faculty, staff, alumni and administration to honor the commemorative wall of accomplished professors. I attended this ceremony and participating as a current student was very inspirational. Political figureheads, including Senator John Flannagan, Suffolk County Legislator Kara Hahn and County Assemblyman Steve Englebright spoke about the accomplishments of Stony Brook University and truly honored the school and the faculty members. Provost, Dr. Assanis and President Stanley also gave very thoughtful remarks to the well accomplished professors who were honored on the wall. I strongly suggest, if you have not done so already, to check out the magnificent wall that if featured in the middle of Melville Library. I was truly inspired and I am sure you will be too!
