Eating your own food rather than always eating out helps your health. However, one thing struck me about commuters purchasing a meal plan: yes your food is NOT taxed, but they charge you a service fee which more than makes up for the 8-9% NY State tax. I did dinner napkin math with friends and confirmed its more expensive to purchase a meal plan. I enjoy reading your articles and agree with everything you said.
